Monks Yard Flower Garden

What a lovely day!!  This afternoon James, Bear and Laura planted a whole range of beautiful plants today, including cornflower, aster, alchemilla mollis daisy and sweetpea plants.  Nigella and bupleurum seeds, and gladioli corms.  Cosmos, sunflower, larkspur etc., to follow.  Watch this space for news of cut flowers!

Football (Last games of the season)

We played 4 games of Football on Sunday. We won 1, drew 1 and lost 2. The game we won it was 7-0 two players got hat tricks and I kept a clean sheet. Written By Simon

Pitway

Stephen works at Pitway every Wednesday. Everyone knows him well and he does a first class job preparing lunches and teas. He is invaluable and clears everything before he leaves.

Sweet Surprise Allotment

It is the beginning of April and yet the allotment is looking really great.  Nick and his crew cleared most of the site earlier in the year and we now have broad beans flowering, potatoes in, onions and shallots sprouting.  Mangetout is ready to plant out and the cabbages are bulking out. Monks Yard Cutting Garden

We have had the opportunity of another gardening venture, at Monks Yard at Horton Cross.  Dave Marks has offered us a plot in their community gardening area and we have decided to dedicate it to cut flowers.  Hopefully Monks Yard will be able to use the flowers as well.
